This is the best X10 filter on the market. It is rated 20 amps, so it can filter an entire circuit (breaker).

We often use these filters to filter noisy circuits, such as the circuit running a large entertainment center with a hundred items on it, or a circuit running a bank of CFLs or other noisy devices.
How effective is this filter? If you plug an appliance or lamp module into the circuit on the output of this filter, and an X10 transmitter on the other side, the module will not respond. Also the reverse is true: If you plug an X10 transmitter into the circuit on the output of this filter, modules on the input side will not hear the signal.. How effective is it? We even use these in installatiosn where we need over 256 x10 channels, so we can use for example an A1 on EACH side of the filter, and then don't interfere with eachother.
One way to find out if this will help you FOR SURE: When you are experiencing X10 control problems, go to your breaker box and turn off one breaker at a time, checking for the transmission problem with each breaker off. If you find a breaker that WHEN OFF, your X10 problems are gone, then installing this filter on that circuit would isolate that circuit and solve your issue totally. Just keep in mind that modules on that particular circuit would then be out of your X10 control (isolated from the rest of the building).
Advanced Note: If you need to filter a 240 volt device, which runs on two breakers(one each phase), you can purchase two of these to totally filter that device. Likewise, for 3-phase applications, you can purchase 3 to totally filter that 3-phase circuit. But for standard 120v single phase applications, only one filter is necessary.
For X10 critical "MUST ALWAYS WORK" applications, such as house lighting, we use of of these filters and wire ALL lighting circuits on the output of the filter. Then if we need to "couple" the signal from the output to the input, we use two of the CR134 repeaters we sell. This makes the signals repeat back and forth over the input and output of the filter, but doesn't allow any noise to pass.. So for example if something totally JAMS the x10 signals on one side, no worries, the other side still works flawlessly. This is explained in detail in our video.
